Hey girls! Sorry for the time between now and my last post, but its hard to get wireless reception in the mountains (and no, I did not bring my laptop). Anyway, Kevin and I did make it back safely...obviously...and luckily there were no mutant inbreds to be found (deliverance, ring a bell?). The camping trip was awesome. We are thinking about going on another one within the next few weeks. We went on several hikes to see waterfalls and mountains. We also saw a crazy amount of deer...we were able to walk up to ten feet away from one of them. Our firemaking skills need some work, however. We even cheated a bit with fire starting sticks, but our fire didn't have much power. Bear, on Man v. Wild (Discovery Channel...you guys should watch), makes fire starting with twigs, and not much else, look so easy. Damn him!
The campground we camped at was really nice and secluded, located smack in the middle of bear country. So, at night, when you are trying to get to sleep, you have no windows out of the tent and you hear rustling in the bushes...it really makes you wonder. Anyway, Shenandoah National Park is great place to visit and I do recommend it.
The following are a few pics from our camping trip...
Dark Hollow Falls
Doyles River Falls (it's there...this just isn't the greatest pic...see below)
